Essex LGCM

Introduction

Essex LGCM welcomes Christians of all sexual orientations and of all denominations or none. We welcome all genders and all ages. Our aim is to provide fellowship and support to each other wherever we are on our journey of life and faith.

Where do we meet?

We meet in the homes of members who are willing and able to host a meeting. This ranges from Dagenham (yes, we mean original Essex!!) to Harwich.

When do we meet?

We usually meet on the third Saturday of each month. Sometimes the third Saturday is not convenient, but it is always a Saturday. We meet at 6.30 for a 7.00 pm start.

What do we do?

Our activities vary greatly. A planning meeting is held in October or November of each year to plan the activities for the following year.

Past activities include worship meetings, often with communion being served. Walks, meals out, quizzes, guest speakers etc.

To inspire and challenge

In our Carol Service on December 5th 2009 we shared a blessing together.

You are invited to make it your own at this time.

May the Lord bless us

this Christmas.

May the Lord touch

all who are hassled and distracted,

all who are harassed and dejected.

May his presence in Bethlehem,

his vulnerability in the manger,

move our hearts

beyond all cynicism and pride.

May his tender mercy release in us

streams of mercy and compassion

for all we meet.

May Christ’s gentle light

shine on the troubled town of Bethlehem

and bring peace to all its people.
